White House Covid-19 Task Force Press Briefing

On March 1, 2021, the White House Covid-19 Response Team, along with federal public health officials, held a press briefing discussing the status of the federal government’s Covid-19 pandemic response. In the approximately half-hour long briefing, officials discussed:

  • The science behind vaccines
  • The role of the U.S. government in the development and testing of new vaccines (notably, the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine)
  • Distribution of approved vaccines in an equitable way to all communities
  • An update on the pace of vaccination
  • Questions from the public on uneven distribution of vaccines, new variants, and other pressing issues

While there was some great science and information shared, there were also pieces of exciting news, such as the fact that our country’s current vaccination average is 1.7 million shots per day!
