Cheyenne Herron completely embodies the spirit that inspires our spotlight on HealthCap Heroes. Her fellow staff and residents both have been blessed by her loving dedication, and we are sharing her story to honor her for the amazing acts of kindness that she is doing on a daily basis:

Have you ever met that “go-to” employee that consistently exceeds your expectations? I would like you to meet Cheyenne Herron, the Administrative Assistant at Gladwin Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Cheyenne never fails to amaze. Cheyenne is the first person to raise her hand and say, “I can do that.” Cheyenne is a true HealthCap Hero and has proven this through her actions and words on a daily basis: Cheyenne is responsible for the nursing schedule at Gladwin Pine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, which can be quite challenging throughout COVID 19. Cheyenne is always there to support the staff; she bends over backwards finding coverage and replacements on the schedule. She runs to the local fast food restaurant to bring the staff working extra hours a Frozen Coke. She runs to bring back their choice of a pizza or sub sandwich as an expression of gratitude for their extra efforts. She even provides them with a ride and will pick them up and take them home if they are having transportation issues! Cheyenne is uniquely qualified as an Administrative Assistant as she maintains a C.N.A. Certificate. She jumps in whenever she can and provides exceptional care to the residents. One day we received a telephone call and the gentleman on the phone said, my mom is going to break out to her salon to get her hair done (well, salons were closed due to COVID 19 restrictions), what am I going to do? So, Cheyenne to the rescue . . . Cheyenne made his mom feel very special by taking her to the beauty shop, with appropriate PPE in place, and shampooed and curled her hair; plus she gave her a heart-warming hand massage. This son was happy that his mom was happy. Cheyenne spreads happiness! One day, it was about 5 pm and we learned of a COVID positive resident that needed to be transported to a location with a COVID Unit . . . this COVID positive unit was a 3-hour drive. Cheyenne donned her PPE and said, “I’m ready to go. I would do anything for these residents.” Through wind and rain, and even hail, you can count on Cheyenne. That is exactly the weather that occurred during the transport. Cheyenne got home around 1 am after working all day. But, to no surprise, Cheyenne was back in the building at 6 am for COVID 19 testing. Cheyenne does all of this with kindness and compassion, as she truly cares from the bottom of her heart for residents, staff, and family members. These are just a few examples of the day-to-day acts of kindness demonstrated by Cheyenne. Cheyenne, HealthCap Hero, does all of this with a fun sense of humor and smile while being a wonderful mother to her three-year-old son.
